Medicare is a kind of health care insurance created by the U.S. government for senior citizens, and also those that have certain disabilities and illnesses. When someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The one exception is, the individual will need to receive treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start treatment, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the physician will typically approve what sort of treatment the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual should be in a hospital because of their issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
