Medicare is a form of health insurance created by the federal government for older persons, in addition to individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the individual will have to acquire treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to commence treatment, they may also have to visit their medical doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will usually approve what type of treatment the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual should be in a hospital for their problem, and the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
