Individuals who wish to maintain a lot of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab whenever they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to take part in rehabilitation services without the commitment you might normally have to agree to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to solve significant substance abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient option, it isn't for everyone. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and treatment services part-time each day or several days each week. This can be very helpful for individuals who have recently completed a much more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a really small percentage of clients. For an individual with more severe addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation facilities which provide treatment over a long-term basis are going to be the more advantageous rehab choice.
