Medicare is a type of medical health insurance developed by the federal government for older persons, in addition to people with certain disabilities and diseases. If a person that has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will be either covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The one catch is, the individual will need to acquire treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to start rehab, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of treatment providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual has to be hospitalized for their issue, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
