Medicare is a type of medical insurance designed by the federal government for older persons, and also those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The only catch is, the person will have to receive treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual needs to be hospitalized because of their problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
