Medicare is a kind of health care insurance developed by the federal government for older folks, in addition to people who have specific disabilities and diseases. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the individual must receive treatment from the alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their physician who must state that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve what type of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual needs to be in a hospital because of their problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to every other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
