Offering gender-specific treatment services has shown to be very helpful in circumstances where traditional treatment facilities have not meet expectations, such as dealing with situations inside a women's life which are unique and painful. Such concerns may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and being a mother, and other really serious issues which are specific to women. Studies show that women could also get involved in drug use more easily than men, and are more vulnerable to illness as a result of drug abuse problems than males as a result. Due to duties in their home, women also tend to put off looking for and receiving treatment, a situation which can be a catalyst for catastrophe.
