Medicare is a form of health insurance created by the federal government for seniors, as well as people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual will need to obtain treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin treatment, they may also have to see their doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will typically approve what type of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab solutions. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual must be hospitalized because of their issue, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
