Outpatient rehab allows for the rehab client to take part in rehab services with the same commitment you might ordinarily have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation facility. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve substantial substance abuse issues. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune option, it isn't for everyone. Those who choose an outpatient rehab will generally show up at meetings and be a part of therapy and rehab services part-time every day or several days per week. This is very helpful for individuals who have just completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a really small percentage of clients. For a person with more severe drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation programs that provide treatment over a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehab option.
