A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which offers continuous support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but in addition there are group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Instead of sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and also have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside within a group home may be getting involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at some time live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is definitely not a long-term or permanent solution, but it is a viable short-term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together.
