A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug abuse is a place which offers continual support and help for folks in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home will help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability within their lives and also have counsel and support within reach 24/7. Residents in the group home could be involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or could be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at one point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire employment. A group home is definitely not a long-term or permanent option, but it's a viable short-term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
