Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the federal government for senior citizens, along with people with certain disabilities and diseases. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only real catch is, the person must obtain treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they can also get to visit their physician who must declare that rehab services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve which kind of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be in a hospital for his or her problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
