Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the government for seniors, and also individuals with certain disabilities and diseases. When someone that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real catch is, the person will have to obtain treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start treatment, they will also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the physician will usually approve what type of treatment the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual should be hospitalized for his or her issue, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
