TRICARE is medical insurance that is provided to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to get a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very helpful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors waiting to help today.
