A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and help for those in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. As opposed to sending people who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home might help offer an acceptable environment to help maintain stability inside their lives and also have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents inside a group home could be involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at some point live on their own outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, however it is a practical short term option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
