TRICARE is medical health insurance that is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to offer treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will needless to say be asked to get a prior authorization before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, which can be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very useful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors waiting to help today.
