Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab should they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to participate in rehabilitation services with the same commitment you might ordinarily have to agree to in an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment center. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve substantial substance abuse issues. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will typically show up at meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services part-time on a daily basis or several days each week. This can be very helpful for individuals who have recently completed a much more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with just a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a really small number of clients. For someone with more serious drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers that provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial treatment choice.
