TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course be required to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehabilitation service, which may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits concerning the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors waiting to help you today.
