A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending individuals who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home can help provide an appropriate environment to help sustain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support within reach around the clock. Residents inside a group home might be involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life set up outside the group home to be able to at one point live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or acquire work. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent option, yet it's a practical short-term option for those who are trying to get their lives back together again.
