Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide rehabilitation to handle both addiction and mental health concerns at the same time. Dual diagnosis is a very common circumstance for folks involved in drug and alcohol abuse, as people with mental health disorders frequently self medicate with alcohol and drugs to experience some sort of short-term relief from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment which will help them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so they are better able to deal with life situations more effectively if they leave dual diagnosis rehab rather than turning to drugs as a possible solution.
