A group home for somebody who has been involved in drug and alcohol abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending people who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar place, a group home might help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals sustain stability in their lives and have counsel and support within reach 24/7. People who reside in the group home could be taking part in rehab services whilst in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life set up outside the group home so that they can at some time live on their own outside the group home.
