TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehabilitation service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the favored rehab choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very beneficial, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors ready to help you today.
