To start with, detecting a drug and alcohol abuse problem among the hearing impaired can be a challenge, because these individuals may try and hide their issue due to social stigmas attached to drug use. However, drug and alcohol rehab counselors who offer rehab to hearing impaired individuals see the challenges these clients face. ASL rehabilitation services are of course a must, as are rehabilitation services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy provides a forum for important peer support in order that rehab clients can know that they're not alone, and that there is hope to handle their problem with drugs and alcohol. Individual therapy services might be more tailor-made for each individual so that their own challenges can be addressed in rehab.
