Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to receive this government provided insurance coverage. Whether or not a person qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only determined by income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make an acceptable income. For example, people who have a lot of dependents may be entitled to Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what might be described as a fair income. Medicaid also can cover the price of rehab, when someone has been abusing alcohol or drugs and requires treatment. There are numerous drug and alcohol treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what forms of rehabilitation are covered. Certain states only include outpatient treatment services for instance while other states cover far more extensive rehab say for example a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. If a person is involved with drug abuse and wants help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this help. If they do not have Medicaid and also don't have the cash or another type of health insurance to cover rehabilitation, they could determine if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in a drug treatment facility which is approved within their state.
