A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which offers continual support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is ordinarily for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. Instead of sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar place, a group home may help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability in their lives and still have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside within a group home may be getting involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or could be taking steps to get their life set up outside the group home to be able to at some time live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain work.
