Medicare is a form of medical health insurance created by the federal government for seniors, in addition to individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If someone who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person will have to obtain treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin treatment, they can also get to see their medical doctor who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the doctor will typically approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual has to be hospitalized for their problem, as well as the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are the same as every other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
