TRICARE is health insurance that is provided to people in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will naturally need to have a prior authorization before taking part in any type of rehabilitation service, which can be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the favored treatment option, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors standing by to help today.
