Individuals who would like to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab should they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to participate in rehab services without the commitment one would normally have to consent to in an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to address substantial drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient possibility, it isn't for everybody. Those that do decide on an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services part-time on a daily basis or several days weekly. This is very helpful for individuals who have recently completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and someone with just a short history of substance abuse which is usually a really small number of clients. For somebody with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities which provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will be the more beneficial treatment choice.
