Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the government for senior citizens, along with people who have certain disabilities and diseases. If a person who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only real exception is, the person must obtain treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to commence rehab, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the doctor will typically approve what type of rehab the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation solutions. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her issue, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
