TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, along with rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, which may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very useful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
