If an inpatient center is the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
