Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for many people who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether or not someone is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon income however, and individuals shouldn't presume they don't qualify because they make a fair income. For instance, people who have a lot of dependents may be eligible for Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what would be described as a sensible income. Medicaid also can cover the expenses of rehabilitation, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and needs rehab. There are several drug and alcohol rehab facilities which accept Medicaid, but different states have different rules for what forms of rehab are covered. Certain states only include outpatient treatment services for example while other states cover more extensive rehab say for example a residential stay in long-term drug rehab program. If a person is involved in drug abuse and desires help, they could use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the funds or any other type of medical insurance to cover treatment, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug treatment facility which is approved inside their state.
