People who are LGBT can feel alone, not understood, and considered socially depraved. This can be a very hard or painful existence, and leads many LGBT people to a life of drug abuse to numb these feelings. A LGBT facility offers an environment which can be free from judgment, where LGBT clients can be completely safe and comfortable divulging to their peers and rehab counselors problems which have to be resolved in order to recover. This circumstance is an extremely frequent trigger for drug abuse, which is an illustration of an issue that can be handled in treatment.
