TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is a lot more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will naturally be asked to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any kind of treatment service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehab choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which may be very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors ready to help today.
