A group home for someone who has tbeen involved with drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending people who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside inside a group home could be involved in treatment services while in residence, or might be taking measures to get their life setup outside the group home so that they can at some time live independently outside of the group home. For example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or acquire work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent answer, yet it's a viable short-term option for many who are attempting to get their lives back together.
