TRICARE is health care insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to handle alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will naturally have to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits as to how long a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
