Individuals who wish to maintain a lot of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need rehab for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab makes it possible for the treatment client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would normally have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab center. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to solve substantial drug abuse problems. So although an outpatient rehab may seem like a convenient option, it isn't for everybody. People that do decide on an outpatient rehab will usually attend meetings and take part in counseling and treatment services on a part-time basis daily or a few days each week. This is very helpful for many who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, and for someone with just a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a really small number of clients. For someone with more serious addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities which provide rehab over a long-term basis will probably be the more advantageous rehabilitation alternative.
