TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course be asked to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any type of treatment service, that may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very useful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors ready to help you today.
