Medicare is a type of medical health insurance developed by the U.S. government for older folks, along with people who have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If an individual that has Medicare needs treatment for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only real exception is, the person must obtain treatment from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what sort of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual needs to be hospitalized for his or her issue, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
