TRICARE is health care insurance that is provided to individuals in the military of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers numerous treatment services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will of course be asked to have a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehab service, which may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very beneficial, as it may help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors standing by to help today.
