Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to take part in treatment services without the commitment you might usually have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab facility. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to resolve substantial drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that do decide on an outpatient rehab will generally attend meetings and take part in counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis each day or a few days per week. This is helpful for many who have just completed a more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with just a short history of drug abuse which is usually a really small number of clients. For a person with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug treatment centers which offer treatment over a long-term basis will probably be the more advantageous rehab choice.
