Individuals who would like to maintain some flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab if they need rehab for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to participate in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would ordinarily have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug treatment facility. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to address significant drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune possibility, it isn't for everybody. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will usually attend meetings and be a part of therapy and rehab services on a part-time basis daily or several days per week. This can be very helpful for individuals who have recently completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or for someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a very small amount of clients. For somebody with more serious drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facilities that provide rehab over a long-term basis are going to be the more advantageous rehabilitation alternative.
