A group home for somebody who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a facility which provides continual support and help for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. As an alternative to sending those who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum and other similar facility, a group home will help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals sustain stability inside their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. Residents within a group home may be taking part in rehab services whilst in residence, or may be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some time live on their own not in the group home. For example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can work on getting their GED or obtain work. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent answer, yet it's a viable short-term option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
