LGBT represents lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and there are facilities which address the unique needs of these clients. Those who are LGBT can often feel alone, misunderstood, and viewed as socially unwanted. This is sometimes a quite challenging or painful existence, and leads many LGBT people to a lifestyle of drug abuse to numb this pain. Someone that is LGBT may not feel at ease in a traditional rehab facility amongst people who aren't experiencing the same challenges they may be experiencing of their lives. A LGBT facility provides an environment which can be totally free of judgment, where LGBT clients can feel completely safe and comfortable revealing to their peers and rehab counselors problems which need to be handled so that they can get better. Rehab counselors in a LGBT rehab can help clients mend relationships with their family, in the case their family disagree with their sexual preference as is generally the case. This situation is certainly a common trigger for drug use, which is an example of something which can be resolved in rehabilitation. LGBT clients often simply want to be accepted within their lives, and treatment will help them accept themselves and build confidence in order to lead a wholesome life without any alcohol and drugs.
